With Winter Quarter/Spring Semester beginning, make sure you are taking steps to prevent illness. Some simple steps can do a great deal:
- Wash your hands often. Effective handwashing means 20 seconds of vigorous rubbing with plain soap and water.
- Exercise and go outdoors. Exercising can help boost your immune system, and getting a little sunlight here and there can help stave off depression.
- Eat healthy. Attack those holiday pounds with a healthy dose of vegetables and proteins. Eating right not only helps you stay in shape, it can affect your mood and sleep cycles as well!
- Reduce stress. With the holidays over, and school back in session, it can be easy to fall into old habits. Take some tips from the Mayo Clinic: be realistic, plan ahead, and seek support.
