Below is an aerial view of Sacramento taken sixty years ago in 1953. The image is from our Eastman’s Originals Collection. Jervie Eastman (1880-1969) owned a commercial photography studio in Susanville, California and shot photographs across Northern California, primarily in the area north of I-80 and east of I-5.
Can you find the following landmarks in the image: Tower Bridge, State Capitol, Old Sacramento, and the Union Pacific Railyard? Much has changed in this view in the past sixty years!
